Getting to attend a technology/engineering based university would allow me to learn and master so many skills in computer science and engineering, allowing me to grow and surpass the comparitavely little I know now. Because my education now is centered around design, my knowledge in these subjects is limited more than I would like it to be,
Ever since discovering my passion for computer science and engineering, working at a major technology corporation has been a dream. Getting to work with brilliant scientists, mathematicians, and engineers and being at the edge of innovation and discovery would be a dream come true.
At Miami Arts Studio I discovered my passion for computer science and engineering, but I also took a liking to gaming, even eventually getting a job and saving to buy myself the parts to build a high end gaming desktop. This has led me to become intrigued as to how games work. I would love to someday be able to create a game completely by myself.
My career as a graphic designer began when I began attending Miami Arts Studio (back when it was still called Zelda Glazer and was only a middle school). My first year I took a class which I believed would only teach me how to type efficiently. Little did I know we would delve into Photoshop that very year. I decided to continue with the class, and currently it is my fifth year taking it. Throughout the years I have refined my skills, slowly but definitely improving.
Along with learning digital design in programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and various other programs, through my peers and assignments entitled E-Journals and Webliographies, I have discovered a passion
for computer engineering and computer science. This discovery has greatly affected me, causing me to be informed about the newest technology, inducing me to build a computer myself, and even dictating the career path I have chosen to follow,
I'd like to complete a master's degree in Computer Science at a technology centered university, and apply for a job at a technology based corporation. These are my academic and professional goals, my life will not center around these. Aside from taking part in such a corporation, I would like to freelance. Because of my knowledge and training in digital design, I believe that, even currently, I make some impressive work that
is worthy of being sold, and with more training, I could become truly great and even possibly start a side-business.
Since even before I began attending Miami Arts Studio, I had an interest in video games, and as my interest for computer hardware increased, so did my interest/joy for video gaming. I became and avid gamer, but I didn't only care about what was the most "fun". I was interested in new, upcoming ideas, indie or popular. I was interested in what was revolutionizing the industry. This is why I'd like to learn all aspects of game creation and one day create a game entirely by myself. However this would remain on the side lines, as my hobby.
